What is an emergency?

Not all complaints or problems in the mouth are an emergency. For example, fillings that have fallen out, loos (emergency) crowns or bridges are not emergencies.

However, unbearable toothache, a knocked-out or broken tooth due to an accident and bleeding after dental treatment do fall under the emergency scheme. It concerns complaints whose treatment cannot reasonably pe postponed until the next day or after the weekend.

If you have a knocked-out or broken tooth, it is important that you arrive at the dentist within 2 hours after the accident. After this period it is no longer possible to replace the tooth.
